Mashroom cultivation guide with vaccinated dowels
SOWING - VACCINATION
With the help of a drill we drill each trunk from the periphery to the center, in a cross arrangement and at a distance of 5cm from hole to hole. It is recommended to disinfect the drill with a little alcohol when we are going to drill the next trunk.
Hole diameter: same diameter with the dowel.
Nail with the hammer the dowels.
Close the hole with wax.
INCUBATION
•Arrange logs into stacks (parallel or cross-fitting, preferably at room or shed).
•Cover the logs with nylon so that they do not become dehydrated and increase CO2. To reduce the infestation of wood-eating insects, if necessary, sprinkle. On poplar logs you can wrap the log with plastic wrap (food wrap).
•Leave them until the wood turns white (usually 4-6 months) and the environmental conditions are favorable for fruiting (temperature <20οC, humidity> 75%).
FRUITION
•Shock the mycelium (hitting, wetting). Hitting the logs on the floor causes biological shock and "awakening" of the mycelium.
•Place the trunks in moist and shady forest (under evergreen trees).
•We usually place them upright with their base in the soil or sand.
•Support them with horizontal wires or rest them on trees.
•Fruiting begins at the earliest in 6 months (softwoods) from vaccination and lasts up to 6 years (hardwoods).
